Cane toads and a Myxomatosis parallel?
According to a recent article I read, University of Queensland researchers working on a solution to the countries enormous (metaphorically and physically - "huge, hungry and highly toxic") Cane toad problem are suggesting a chemical tablet that may disrupt the tadpoles breeding patterns. So here we have a solution (perhaps) to a problem humans created by bringing the Cane toads into Oz in the first place to control beetles. And if they die out or develop an immunity we have a parallel with the Myxomatosis situation all over again. We continue to use and abuse nature.
